Autumn Evans, Miss Remax
This is Autumn Evans, a sixteen year old grade ten student at Clarence Fulton Secondary School. She’s the daughter of Kim Evans, Tyler Rommel and the big sister to Blaize Rommel. When she’s not at school or at work she enjoys socializing with friends and family and reading. Another activity she enjoys, on her free time, is practicing new hair and makeup styles. Her goal in life is to become a cosmetologist and counsellor. She would like to thank her sponsor Remax for giving her the opportunity to participate in The Queen Silver Star Program.
Makena Hoffman, Miss Paradigm Naturopathic Medicine
Makena Hoffman is the 16 year old daughter of Kara and Aaron Hoffman. She’s currently in grade 12, attending Kalamalka Secondary School. Makena enjoys being involved within her school, as she is part of the Safe Schools, Student Voice, and the school tennis team. This year she plans to volunteer as an on ice helper for her little brothers hockey team. In her free time, Makena loves to play hockey, run, paddle board, and spend time with friends and family. Lexi Jones, Miss Grand Valley Excavating
Lexi Jones is the daughter of Kim Jones. She is currently attends Kalamalka Secondary School and in grade 12. In her spare time she enjoys playing various sports, for example soccer, skiing and competitive figure skating. She loves lending a hand and volunteering at her local figure skating club with the canskate program where she helps the youth of Vernon learn how to skate. Her dream in life is to attend university and get her Bachelor in Science and later become a veterinarian and travel across the world to help stray animals that need help. Arden Low, Miss Vernon VW
Arden Low is the 16 year-old daughter of Kim and Jun-Hua Low. She is currently a grade 12 student at Clarence Fulton Secondary School. At school, she’s a part of the Leadership Program, the Year-book Club, and she runs Fulton’s Book Club. She is also an active member of the 1705 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps and has received the Best Turned Out Cadet award two years in a row. During her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing, shooting, computer programming, playing the piano, and learning the bagpipes. In the future, she hopes to go to university for engineering. Gabriella Pienaar, Miss Davidson Lawyers llp
Gabriella Pienaar is a 17-year old grade 12 student attending Vernon Christian School. She is the daughter of Colyn and Janice Pienaar and has an older brother, Jacob, as well as a younger sister, Janice Jr. Her accomplishments include receiving the Gr. 11 Overall Academic Achievement Award, being invited to Travel & Sport’s Top 10 Academic Achievers 2014 Tour in Britain and completing level 7 modern dance. Herinterests include playing piano, reciting poetry and baking with her mom. She aspires to complete a Bachelor of Medicine Degree and become an ophthalmologist. Teagan Rogers, Miss Johnston Meier Insurance
Teagan Rogers is the 17 year old daughter of Glen and Marni Rogers, and the younger sister of Kaelan Rogers. She is currently attending Vernon Christian School and is in grade 12. Her recent involvement in the community has been with the Upper Room Mission Boutique, where she has helped to restock shelves. Her hobbies and interests consist of playing the piano, and is currently taking level 7. She enjoys art, and especially loves to draw and sketch. Kayla Sargeant, Miss Optimist Club
Kayla Sargeant, the 16 year old grade 11 student, is currently attending Kalamalka Secondary School. She is the daughter of both Kari Sargeant, and step-dad Brian Martin. She is also the eldest sibling of Emma Martin. She enjoys many extracurricular activities including; Tap Dance, Hip Hop Dance, Piano, Singing, and Soccer. She has been dancing since she was 9 at Silhouette Dance studio, continued on at the Armstrong dance academy, and recently started Hip hop at SOdance. She loves to be active, healthy, and fit, and works part-time at Breakaway gym. Her involvement and volunteer work in the Vernon community has been with her parents at the upper room mission, with the team at Castanet, and with her class, cleaning the Bishop Bird Sanctuary. She is very excited to be a part of this program, and would like to thank the team from the Optimist Club for sponsoring her.
Erin Swan, Miss Silver Star Rotary
Erin Swan, a 17 year old grade 12 student, is currently attending W.L Seaton Secondary School. She is the daughter of Brian and Jennifer Swan, as well as the eldest sibling of Natalie and Cameron Swan. Her recent involvement in the community has been Reading Stories at the Coldstream Meadows Retirement Home, Volunteering with the food bank and helping out with the chew on thiscampaign. Erin’s hobbies include, Long distance running, Horseback Riding and anything outdoorsy. Jordynne Tomiak, Miss Designer’s Gallery
Jordynne Tomiak, is the 17 year old graduate from Vernon Secondary School. She is currently enrolled in an English Literature course at the Okanagan College and has obtained a full time position at The Healthy Spot. She is the daughter of Alan and Johie Tomiak and the youngest sibling to her sister Kendall Tomiak. She was recently involved and helped organize multiple fundraisers that benefited her grad class of 2016. Such as; The Grad Fashion Show, bottle drive and garage sale. She is currently a part of the Youth Healthcare Volunteer Program at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital. Jordynne’s hobbies include soccer, where she played competitively for seven years alongside the Vernon Rep team as well as with TOFC. Meghan Townley, Miss Kalamalka Rotary
Meghan Townley is the only child of Graham and Terri. She is 17 years old and attends Vernon Secondary School in grade 12. After graduation, Meghan is planning to study in the ultrasound technology program at BCIT in Burnaby. She loves being outdoors, playing volleyball and taking photos. Meghan enjoys volunteering at the hospital for two years in Polson Extended. She currently works at Crave Massage and Spa, where she is their youngest receptionist.
