For over 62 years Vernon Winter Carnival has strived to bring our community together through fun events and activities that keep us connected through shared experiences.

In partnership with The Stor-it Place – a long-time supporter of the festival – Vernon Winter Carnival is once again asking Grade 12 students to submit a short essay about the impact Vernon Winter Carnival has had on their life. Applications must be submitted to Vernon Winter Carnival no later than Feb 6th at 5pm. Recipients of the Scholarships will be announced Feb 10th. Two Scholarships in the amount of $500 will be awarded.

Over the past two years more than 30 students have applied for the scholarship sharing their personal experiences with Vernon Winter Carnival. “This scholarship opportunity was created not only to engage our younger generations in the festival, but to listen to the stories of what memories and events are important to the future of our community.” Says Vicki Proulx, Executive Director at Vernon Winter Carnival Society. “It’s been really amazing to hear what our young adults remember from their childhood Carnival’s of the 2000’s.”

Applications can be submitted by email to [email protected] or dropped off at the Vernon Winter Carnival Office – 2401 35 Ave. Application Deadline is Monday Feb 6th, 2023 at 5pm. Recipients will be announced during Vernon Winter Carnival Feb 10th, 2023.
