We are so excited about Vernon Winter Carnival’s 64th annual parade to see what our amazing
community comes up with for our “Back to the 80’s!” theme this year!
With that new theme, also comes a new parade route and a new 1-miler route for 2025. The city of
Vernon has changed significantly since the first parade route was decided upon and it has also grown
significantly since the parade route that many have come to know and love was created.
Due to the growth of the city, the changes at the end of the parade route, with the inability to safely
unload at the old Civic Memorial Arena parking lot since it has been revitalized into Civic Park, and the
route blocking in our emergency responders, a change needed to happen.
Vernon Winter Carnival worked alongside the City of Vernon staff through multiple meetngs and
different route suggestions. This year’s route comes from multiple minds coming together to keep those
three main points in mind. The growth of the City of Vernon, keeping our parade participants safe at the
end of the parade, and giving our emergency responders a way out of their areas when a call comes in.
The new route will be a straight shot down 27th Street from 45th Ave to 32nd Ave. Our staging area will be
on 27th from 48th to 45th, and our dismantling and off loading area will be from 32nd to 30th Ave. We
encourage parade goers to park at the mall as there is plenty of parking there for participants and
spectators. View the new parade route below.
We look forward to celebrating one of Carnival’s most beloved events, with all of you, along our new
parade route on Saturday, February 8, 2025!
