Since 1961, our mission has been to foster community spirit and promote Vernon as a Winter Destination through a 10-day Winter Festival.
Vernon Winter Carnival offers a unique winter experience that is inclusive to all. We strive to bring our community together through fun events and activities that keep us connected through shared experiences.

As a non-profit society we rely on your continued support to help us achieve our vision to be leaders in community spirit and engagement, not only during Vernon Winter Carnival, but year round.
Vernon Winter Carnival Society is governed and served by a working Board of Directors, lead by an executive of four directors (Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary) With the operational guidance from the Executive Director (paid employee) the board oversees the activities and direction of the Vernon Winter Carnival Society, ensuring the continuation of the Society to carry out its mission.
Anyone can become a member of the Society.
A $2 membership fee is required to join - which makes you a voting member of the Society - allowing you to vote at the Annual General Meeting - helping to shape Vernon Winter Carnival and have a voice in decisions made for the Society overall. Being a member of the Society also gives you the opportunity to run as a Board of Director.
In 2022 Vernon Winter Carnival Society entered into a five year Strategic Plan to help define and sustain the future of the society and festival. Below is the strategic map to help us accomplish our goals between now and 2027.
