Silver Star

Mountain Resort

Just 20 minutes from Vernon is SilverStar Mountain Resort, offers 100% natural snow for epic downhill skiing and snowboarding.

Enjoy fresh tracks in champagne powder or on perfectly groomed slopes with a variety of terrain for all levels. A stroll through the charming Village will provide opportunities to shop for clothes, candy and ski equipment, or take a break and warm up at one of the many cafes or restaurants.

Visit Tube Town to fly down the hill on an inner tube, family fun for all to enjoy. Brewers Pond offers skating and pond hockey so there is plenty to do even after the lifts are closed.

Explore the perfectly groomed cross-country ski trails at Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre and SilverStar Mountain Resort. Welcome to the largest daily groomed network of Nordic trails in Canada with over 100km to explore.

Snowshoeing

Try your hand at snowshoeing. It’s easy and affordable and can take you through snowy forests and to stunning viewpoints. The trail systems at Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre and SilverStar Mountain Resort are perfect exploring the snow covered forests. Hikers can find a challenge by snowshoeing to see the frozen BX Falls or check out Okanagan Lake from Predator Ridge’s trails. Fat Biking & Snowmobiling

When Vernon’s mountain biking season ends, fat biking begins! Fat bikes are mountain bikes that are made for riding in the snow. Included in a day ticket at SilverStar Mountain Resort, there are 15km of trails to explore by fat bike. You can rent fat bikes at SilverStar and Vernon’s bike shops.

Snowmobiling in Vernon is a big thing. In fact, there are close to 200km of snowmobile trails in the area! Bring your own snowmobile or rent one, and then blast your way around Silver Star Provincial Park near Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre.


To warm up, explore the tasting rooms and local libations in and around Vernon. Tempt your taste buds with a great wine, craft beer, mead, fine spirit or charcuterie platter loaded with the unique flavours of the valley as you follow the Vernon Tasting Trail. Sample the best coffee shops in downtown on the Hot Sips Trail.
